Medical Lab Technician

The Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (DMLT) is a two-year paramedical program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective diagnostic work in the medical field. Diagnostics play a critical role in medicine, as accurate test results are essential for proper medical or surgical treatment. This course provides comprehensive training in laboratory practices, including the preparation of high-quality reagents, and is increasingly important due to growing demand in medical, pharmaceutical, and research sectors. Students are trained to work in diagnostic labs, manufacturing units of diagnostic reagents, hospitals, research laboratories, and pharmaceutical industries. They also gain the ability to assist qualified professionals and understand hospital and laboratory organization, with the skills to handle basic emergency diagnostics. The program includes both theoretical and practical components, such as workshops, skill sessions, and mandatory internships in hospitals or diagnostic centers, ensuring hands-on experience. Eligibility requires completion of Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Upon completion, graduates can pursue various roles including Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Research Laboratory Technician, Quality Control Technician, and Phlebotomist.
